Tracy Morgan Lands Movie Role, His First Since 2014 Car Crash

Tracy Morgan has landed his first movie role since since recovering from his June 2014 car accident. The actor/comedian will join Ice Cube and Charlie Day in a comedy titled "Fist Fight."

The movie, which stars filming later this month, follows the story of "a mild-mannered teacher (Day) who is challenged to a fist fight by a much tougher colleague (Cube)." "Breaking Bad" star Dean Norris will portray the role of the school's principal while Jillian Bell features as a guidance counselor in the film, according to E!.

Morgan plays a high school coach in the film, which was penned by Evan Susser and Van Robichaux. Richie Keen will direct the film and Shawn Levy will produce the project together with Max Greenfield and John Rickard. Day is the executive producer on the film along with Dan Cohen, Marty Ewing and Billy Rosenberg, according to Variety.

The "30 Rock" alum had an emotional return to the stage during the Emmys on Sunday night, where he presented the award for Best Drama Series. Morgan last appeared on the silver screen alongside Chris Rock in Paramount's "Top Five." He is also set to make his television comeback as a host on "Saturday Night Live" on Oct. 17, as HNGN previously reported.
