Raury, Donald Trump: Teenage Rapper Wears Anti-Trump Jersey During 'Late Show' Performance (VIDEO)

Raury, a 19-year-old rapper from Atlanta, took the stage for the first time on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" following the host's interview with 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump, Billboard reported. The Atlanta-based hip-hop star made a political statement by wearing an anti-Trump jersey during his live performance.

The teenaged rapper appeared on stage with a backup choir and band during his performance of his hit, "The Devil's Whisper." He wore a green Mexico soccer jersey throughout his soulful live rendition and a large hat, reminiscent of fellow hip-hop star Pharrell Williams, but during the song's musical break down, Raury relinquished his singing duties to pick up two drumsticks and bang along to the beat.

While his back was turned, the audience and the cameras got a clear glimpse of the back of Raury's jersey, which featured Trump's name on the back crossed out with a red "x." He turned around quickly after hitting the drums to spit a rap verse before the song came to a close. Raury presented Colbert with his own jersey when the host joined him onstage.

The hip hop artist told Vice News that he planned to make a political statement against the comments Trump made earlier in the year regarding Mexican immigrants.

"Trump embodies separation, solving problems with anger, fear, and personal differences," Raury told Vice News. "I'm all about the opposite, about being inclusive and open."

Raury further expanded on his reason for making his political statement on Twitter following his performance.

"I got love for my Hispanic community I stand with all people in times of oppression," Raury tweeted. "Happy national Hispanic heritage month guys."
