Over the last few years, television adaptations for the big screen have gone the route of the R-rated comedy. Such was the case for Phil Lord and Chris Miller's approach to "21 Jump Street," and a similar take will be given to the "Baywatch" movie with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Zac Efron. But what about the planned "Charlie's Angels" reboot directed by Elizabeth Banks?
Cinema Blend recently spoke to the actress/director, and while she said no rating had been planned as of yet, she was open to the idea of skewing it more for adults.
"I mean, honestly I don't worry about the rating so much. It's not, it's definitely not an initial consideration when I'm working on something I think you have to work with the studio, whoever is putting the movie out, whoever is giving you the money, and understand who the audience for the movie is, and then you make the movie for the audience."
Banks is no stranger to R-rated comedies, having starred in "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" and "Role Models." Would she want to carry that tone over for "Charlie's Angels?"
"I love that as an actor. It's personally hard for me to make PG comedy. I am a foul mouthed, dirty-minded [person]."
Banks would not confirm or deny to Cinema Blend whether she plans to assume one of the three main "Charlie's Angels" roles for herself.
You can currently catch Banks in the video release of the fantastic Brian Wilson biopic "Love & Mercy."
