Philadelphia Eagles starting left tackle Lane Johnson said that it is a "must win this week" against the New York Jets, according to Matt Lombardo via NJ.com.
The Eagles are 25th in the league in terms of yards per game, and this is a drastic change from last season when they finished fifth in the NFL for yards per game. Both games against the Atlanta Falcons and the Dallas Cowboys were tough losses as the Eagles had chances in both games to win.
"I'm going to have to go back and look at the film, but no matter what we did, we couldn't execute. We couldn't get nothing going. It's pathetic, and I'm part of it," said Johnson, via csnphilly.com. "It felt like everything was going wrong. When it rains it pours. I felt like we had a great week of practice. Just got out there and pissed on our leg."
The problem for the Eagles is that they are meeting the stout defense of the Jets this Sunday, and the Jets are coming off a big win against the Indianapolis Colts. The Jets defense is stacked from their defensive line to their linebackers to their secondary. "Honestly, I think when you look at the offense, their up-tempo actually has slowed down more with Sam Bradford that it was with Nick Foles," Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie said, via nj.com.
Bradford will need to have a better game this weekend if the Eagles want to come out victorious Sunday. Bradford has had a tough start in Chip Kelly's offense and has thrown four interceptions to two touchdowns through the first two games. The Eagles offense will play the best defense they have faced this season, and the Eagles need to get a win before they start falling out of the race in the NFC East.
