Remakes are all the rage in Hollywood these days, so it shouldn't come as that much of a surprise that Warner Bros. is reportedly keeping its options open for new versions of "Ace Venture: Pet Detective" and "Major League."
The studio is selling off 78 of its nostalgic properties from the past but retaining the rights to the Jim Carrey classic and the '80s baseball comedy, Deadline reports. The studio is also retaining the rights to the iconic horror film "The Exorcist."
This doesn't mean that there are any definitive plans to develop remakes in the near future for the three films, but studio CEO Jim Robinson has confirmed that the option is on the table. How would a remake look without the singular talents of a Jim Carrey or the collective wisdom of the handful of stars in "Major League?" We have no idea. But this is Hollywood, where anything can happen if it makes you money, so why not?
