All of the advertisements and hype building up to NBC's "The Blacklist" provided quite the high standard as the season premiere hit the small screen on Monday-a standard that the show definitely lived up to. Here are the top three things about the show so far:
No. 3-This is Only the Beginning:
The first episode gave us just a tease. However, it wasn't a tease that just showed you the potential without any real expectations. It was the kind of tease that you know good things are going to follow. As Reddington said, the first terrorist was nearly insignificant compared to what is coming next. The series premiere did its job by making you want to see what was coming next.
No. 2-Unforseen Twist
When we first meet Elizabeth (Megan Boone) and Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) they seem like a nice young couple getting ready to embark on the journey that is life. We already knew things were about to change for Elizabeth. Therefore many fans were/are trying to figure out her connection to Reddington. That's why I like the fact it is her husband who may have the connection. (Which, by the way, I sort of guessed.) Something tells me this is only the beginning of things we didn't see coming.
No.1-Raymond Reddington
The character of Raymond Reddington is a good one and exceptionally portrayed by James Spader. Reddington is the smartest guy in the room, knows he's the smartest guy in the room and isn't afraid to let you know it. Also, he had a hand in the Zamani case and no one knew. It will be interesting to see if he plays a part in an unforseen part in other case going forward.
"The Blacklist" airs Mondays, 10/9c on NBC.
