Mike Trout Climbs Wall, Catches Hit From Jesus Montero

Mike Trout, center fielder for the Los Angeles Angels has caught what Yahoo News described as the best catch of his career. During a hit, Trout - using the wall to pull himself up - caught a pop-fly which would have gained Jesus Montero and the Mariners a three-run home run in the fourth innning, according to LA Times. His decision to climb up the wall has gained him a lot of attention.

"When he hit it, I thought it was gonna be way gone. I just told myself, 'Get to the wall.' I climbed it, and everything else - everything was just perfect," Trout said, according to MLB News. This catch has gotten Trout jokingly labeled as a human cheat code on social media.

"Honestly, I didn't think I could catch it," Trout said. "And then, once I got up to the wall and looked back up at it, I said, 'Man, I've got a chance to catch this ball." He was surprised at his catch along with others who are not used to making such precise catches.

"I can appreciate what Mike did. In spring training, you goof around trying to make those catches, but all the timing mechanisms that have to be in place to make that catch ... you can't even simulate it. To see it actually happen, you're like, 'Oh, that's what it looks like,'" said Tim Salmon, former outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels.
