Over the weekend, Coldplay performed a new song at the Global Citizens Festival, at Central Park in New York City. The song, titled "Amazing Day," was said to be off their forthcoming album, reportedly titled "Head Full of Dreams," according to SPIN.
The band opened the Global Citizens Festival in NYC's Central Park on Saturday. Lead singer Chris Martin said the song was about just having an amazing day.
"We are going to play a new song now," Martin told the crowd. "This is about all the wonderful things that can happen on Earth when people work together."
The song started off slow, but in typical Coldplay fashion, it built and got faster towards the end. The song was accompanied by beautiful visuals of nature from around the world.
The bands set included five songs including their hit "Viva La Vida" and a surprise collaboration with Ariana Grande, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Grande went out on stage with Coldplay to perform her song "Just a Little Bit of Your Heart," that was written by One Direction star, Harry Styles.
Martin's night was not over when Coldplay finished their set. The singer of the band later joined Ed Sheeran onstage to help sing his hit song "Thinking Out Loud."
"When they asked me to play [Global Citizen], they asked me what song fitted in my sort of vibe, I wanted to play a song with someone who I'm a massive fan and admirer of, so I might as well bring him on stage," Sheeran said while introducing Martin.
