ACC rivals Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech meet on Thursday for college football. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. EDT. Watch the live stream HERE.
Virginia Tech (3-1) bounced back from its season-opening loss to Alabama with three straight wins. Facing a division opponent makes continuing their winning streak even more important.
"Every ACC game is like a playoff game," VT defensive coordinator Bud Foster said, via ESPN. "It's been a tight division, so your head-to-head play has been a big part of the end result when you have teams that are maybe 6-2 or tied. It's been us or them. I know everybody is talking about Miami, but in my eyes, it's us or them. That's how we approach this game."
VT's offense moves behind quarterback Logan Thomas and running back Trey Edmunds. Thomas has completed 65-of-134 passes for 698 yards and four touchdowns; Edmunds has 78 touches for 352 yards and three scores.
Georgia Tech (3-0) is looking to remain perfect on the season. Quarterback Vad Lee is 22-of-39 for 418 yards and seven touchdowns, and running back David Sims has 38 carries for 211 yards and three downs.
GT coach Paul Johnson, looking for his 29thh ACC win with GT, understands the magnitude of Thursday's game.
"I think that if you look just since I've been here, sometimes the programs get overlooked a little bit," Johnson said, via ESPN. "But if you take Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech, they're probably in the top three or four in total conference wins over the whole span that I've been here. It's just kind of worked that way. So it's always a big game and a game that has a lot of meaning in the Coastal Division race."
