Apple iOS7 has dominated the Internet traffic at 51.8 percent just a week after the launch of its software update, according to a recent report of the advertising network Chitika.
The number of iOS devices going online for equipped with Apple’s software even surpassed the company’s previous record which was at 47 percent during the first week launch of the iOS 6.
Meanwhile, Jelly Bean only got 45.1 percent of the Internet traffic share 14 months post-release. It was originally launched in July 2012 and had its latest update August this year. Google will soon be releasing a new Android software dubbed as “Kitkat” which according to rumors will happen on Oct. 14.
Chitika reports that the iOS 7 is now generating around 51.8 percent of Internet traffic from the U.S and Canada. To date, about 200 million Apple devices have already updated their software to the iOS 7.
It is also highlighted that iOS 7 is performing really well because it is able to exceed that of Android which supports more devices. Samsung is getting the largest shipments among all Android devices in July. This is based on the signal and finding tool Open Signal report which has detected 11,868 different and unique Android devices which had installed its app.
Jelly Bean is occupying 45.1 percent of devices running on Android. This indicate a significant improvement from July's 40.5 percent, however, it is still slower compared to Apple’s new OS.
Based on the Chitika report, Android’s IceCream Sandwich, the predecessor of Android Jelly Bean, displayed a decline on its distribution from 22.5 percent down to 21.7 percent while Gingerbread also decreased from 33.1 percent to 30.7 percent and ranks next to Jelly Bean. Surprisingly, there are still a few devices going online with a Honeycomb at 0.1 percent.
Chitika fearlessly forecasted that iOS 7 will still exceed its current rate as there are still new iPhone 5C and 5S that are not yet delivered.
