Georgia Parents Forgive Sons Who Tried To Kill Them, 'We're Just Praying That The World Forgives Them'

Yvonne and Zachary Ervin - parents who were assaulted by their children recently in Gwinnet County, Ga. - have since forgiven their two sons. "Those were not the boys that did that to us. We did not raise our boys that way," Yvonne Ervin said, according to WSB-TV.

On Sept. 5, brothers Christopher and Cameron Ervin allegedly attacked their parents leaving a bloody scene in the family garage, according to the NY Post. After assaulting their parents, the two reportedly tried - unsuccessfully - to blow up their home. Zachary Ervin was reportedly struck with a shot gun in the head. Police were alerted by a phone call from Yvonne Ervin. She claimed her sons were trying to kill her as well as her husband. She went on to say that her sons put Xanax in her and her husband's drink, according to MSN.

During a search of the house, police located a bloody shotgun believed to be used as a weapon during the incident. The two brothers - Christopher and Cameron - ages 22 and 17 respectively, were both charged with aggravated assault and arson.

"We understand there are consequences for what they did. They understand that, but we're just praying that the world forgives them in the same way that we forgive them," Yvonne Ervin said, standing by her husband's side.
