Kim Kardashian stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday to chat about her husband Kanye West's announcement that he was running for president in 2020. The rapper made the surprise announcement last month at the MTV Video Music Awards while he accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
Kardashian told DeGeneres that even she did not know that West was going to announce his candidacy on stage at the award show.
"I believe he is serious and I know that if he puts his mind to something, he'll do his best," she told DeGeneres. "It's been fascinating just hearing all of the conversations that have gone on since that announcement. I don't know if that was planned and I just didn't know about it, or if he came up with that idea right then and there."
West made the bold declaration at the very end of his acceptance speech at the 2015 VMA's.
"As you probably could've guessed by this moment, I have decided, in 2020, to run for president," West said.
Kardashian also spoke with the talk show host about her future son, who is due in December. The mom-to-be said she and West had not picked a name for the child yet, but did mention she liked the name Easton.
"I do like the name Easton. Easton West. I don't think my husband likes that name, but I do like it. I don't we'll go another direction. It's definitely not South. Every time someone says 'South' I just want to roll my eyes. It's not a good direction," Kardashian said.
Kardashian and West are expecting their second child to arrive on Christmas Day.
