Martha Stewart broke her iPad and tweeted on Wednesday for Apple to fix it, but Apple refused to make an exception to do a special service for the multibillionaire celebrity.
"I cannot believe that Apple Public Relations is mad at me for tweeting about my iPad and how to get it fixed! Steve Jobs gave it to me!"
Stewart claims that her iPad was a gift from Steve Jobs and has been continuously posting tweets on her Twitter account on Wednesday expressing her disappointment for the service. The tweets were read by a lot of people as she has 2.9 million followers. Her first tweet about the broken iPad said, "I just dropped my iPad on the ground and shattered two glass corners. What to do?does one call Apple to come and pick it up or do I take it?"
On Thursday, Stewart was so dismayed as she felt ignored by Apple since nobody bothered to contact her to pick up her iPad. She tweeted again, "I am still waiting for an apple rep to come pick up my IPad. No action yet."
The tweets expressing her frustrations had the expected reactions from other Twitter users, mostly making fun of the unrealistic expectations that Apple will pick up the iPad to have it repaired.
The repair process for Apple products is for owners to go the Apple store for repair or replacement if still under warranty. Most vendors also fix broken screens.
Another Stewart tweet was suggestive of a new Apple service she termed Apple Now which will offer "same day fixit."
After some time, her tweets soon died down through a tweet suggesting that her earlier litany were just frustrated expressions that were meant to be a joke. That was the time that a "mad" Apple Public Relations member messaged her. However, she didn't mention the exact message.
The Stewart tweets went viral and initiated responses in the social media site. Martha on the other hand said that she will keep mum and silently deal with her iPad issue. Reuters tried to reach out to Stewart and Apple both were not available for comments.
