Zac Efron Resurfaces on Instagram Post Rehab: Thanks Fans For Love And Support

Hollywood actor Zac Efron is back on Instagram after he secretly went into rehab to deal with his cocaine and alcohol problems. He posted a picture and thanked his fans for their love and support.

The picture on Instagram showed the "High School Musical" star flashing his million dollar smile as he posed in Machu Picchu in Peru, wearing backpacker-tourist gear.

"Hey guys!" Efron wrote beneath the picture. "Just returned from an incredible trip to Peru with my dad and wanted to thank you all for your support these past few weeks...means the world to me. Love you guys! - Z"

Earlier this month, Efron returned to the limelight after successfully finishing a 5-month rehab program. The actor was reportedly a regular on the L.A club and partying circuit and it wasn't long before he realized he had an alcohol and drug problem.

"He realized he needed outside help," one friend explained to US Weekly. "He reached out for it and is doing great now."

"He just needed to find himself," another friend told the tabloid. "With him acting sometimes erratically on the set of his recent film 'Neighbors' his real friends started to worry about him."

Efron is currently concentrating on his career and has put all his focus into his upcoming film "Parkland," which is centered around the assassination of John F. Kennedy, reports ABC News. The actor has moved up the ladder quite quickly, from being a young chick-flick actor to taking up lead roles in more serious films.
