Sanmay Ved, a former Google employee, was lucky enough to own "Google.com," the most visited domain in the world, for a good one minute, for only $12.
The former Google executive said that he was just checking the domain page when he saw that instead of the usual gray sad face saying that it was unavailable, it was green and available.
"I used to work at Google so I keep messing around with the product. I type in Google.com and to my surprise it showed it as available. I thought it was some error, but I could actually complete check out," Ved said, according to Business Insider.
After the purchase was complete, Ved's e-mail inbox was filled with messages that confirmed his purchase -and ownership - of Google.com. He was also given access to Google Webmaster Tools, which he found scary, because it contained sensitive information that should only be accessed by Google webmasters, International Business Times reported.
Google Domains canceled the sale after a minute and informed Ved that it has been registered before his purchase, returning the $12 he has been charged.
Though his ownership was short-lived, Ved is still proud, saying, "At least I can now say I'm the man who owned Google.com for a minute," according to Tech Insider.
