The series premiere of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” was solid. We got action, comedy and a hidden storyline. Nevertheless, there are some questions we have heading into Episode 2 and beyond:
No. 1—What really happened to Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg)?
First of all, may I point out it was cool to see Cobie Smulders back as Agent Maria Hill in the series premiere. Hopefully, we get to see her more often. (Maybe after “How I Met Your Mother” is over?) However, only she and Dr. Franklin Hall (Ian Hart) know what actually transpired during Coulson’s absence. Is it possible Coulson was brought back by “unnatural” means? Could he be have abilities and not know it?
No. 2—Does Agent Ward Have Super Strength?
Is anyone else wondering how Grant was able to hold his own in the pilot episode against a guy who had ridiculous super strength and was getting even stronger and angrier? If you have suggestions (and I would really like to hear some) please comment below.
No. 3—Any Love Interests?
The scene between Sky (Chloe Bennett) and Grant (Brett Dalton) was both adorable and funny. However, this doesn’t seem like the type of show to dwell on love interests between the characters. Nevertheless, it’s nice to speculate. Could there be something more between Skye and Grant? Maybe Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge)?
No. 4—What Superheroes Can We Expect, if any?
Marvel superheroes are the one thing that this show needs and hopefully the fans get at least one. That one should be Iron Man. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen Robert Downey Jr. in a television show but if he were to appear (and he’s open to it) it would bring immense star power and a huge ratings boost for the show.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
