Woman Tricked by Ex-Boyfriend into Taking Abortion Pills Tells All

A young woman who got tricked by her ex-boyfriend into taking abortion was quiet during the time the case was filed. But now, she is ready to tell their story—how it all began until its tragic ending.

Remee Jo Lee, 27, had an interview with ABC News and discussed her relationship with John Andrew Welden, 29, who pled guilty for tricking her into taking abortion pills saying those are prenatal tablets and antibiotics.

Lee and Welden first met at Class Act Show Bar, a gentleman’s lounge with full service liquor bar, in Tampa, Fla., where she used to work. He told her that his relationship with his long-time girlfriend Tara Fillinger was over so the two became lovers. She thought that he was the man who can save her from her troubled life.

Before she met Welden, Lee suffered from alcohol addiction and got caught while stealing a $300 worth of cosmetics. She also got involved in a car accident and had records that she was caught with marijuana in her car. When he came into the picture, she decided to change for good as all things seem to fall into place.

The two had a sexual relationship and did not use protection because he said he loved her. Eventually she got pregnant and she was happy about it. She sent an MMS to him showing the pregnancy test results. She was shocked when he replied in a text message saying, “Oh my God, I want to die. Are you serious? Remee, please don’t do this, I beg you. I am destroyed.”

Lee refused to abort the baby because she wanted to be a mother.

Welden was a son of a doctor and taking biomedical science and religion courses at the University of Southern Florida. Lee never thought that he would plan something to harm the baby. He brought her to her father’s clinic for a prenatal examination and was told the day after that she had mild infection.

He gave her Cytotec, an abortion drug, which he tampered and told her were prenatal tablets and antibiotics. She took one tablet and experienced severe pain. She was rushed into the hospital but unfortunately, the baby was gone. The doctor told her she was given Cytotec.

Welden was immediately charged for his wrongdoings and still remains in a house arrest while waiting for his verdict. His father was not charged of anything.
