Battlefield 4 May Include Kinect Integration for Xbox One, 360, Reveals DICE

Battlefield 4 could arrive with Kinect-integrated head tracking for Xbox 360 and One.

Battlefield 4 one of the most anticipated games by Dice slated for release on October 29 may receive a Kinect integrated head tracking on both Xbox One and Xbox 360 as hinted by the game developer.

DICE Producer, Daniel Matros revealed in a recent interview that the Swedish developer was looking at possibilities of Kinetic integration for the game in the near future.

"That sort of thing is something we're still discovering and messing around with, but right now we're mainly just focused on shipping the game. Once we've done that, and got the game into players' hands, we'll see what we can do in terms of adding all the extra fluff," said Matros, DICE producer, in a recent post on Xbox 360 Achievement Page.

"We don't want to do something just because we can do it or because it looks cool. It needs to be worthwhile, it needs to work and it needs to be accessible; people need to know that they're investing in this because it's going to make the Battlefield experience better. Really it comes down to everything we do having to make sense," Matros added..

Rumors have been around of Battlefield 4 developers heading toward Kinect integration for the game after Patrick Bach, the executive producer for DICE, spilled out the possibilities of utilizing the new Kinect controllers for its cross generation shooting game.

"Through SmartGlass, Xbox players will be able to view the overhead map during multiplayer matches and take advantage of the second screen," said Bach, on Xbox Wire. "Also, with Kinect, we're looking into features that enhance the controls including peeking and leaning and tracking head movement as well as incorporating voice commands."

There is no official word yet from the game developer over Kinect integration. However, the buyers should not be surprised by a Kinect follow up in the future as Dice seems to have a "pretty pragmatic view" over the matter, said Karl Magnus, general manager for DICE at the E3 conference in June, reports Eurogamer.
