The all-new Jeep Cherokee arrives in four new variants, the Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk with two new engine options, and a new 9-speed transmission system with four different configurations starting at $22,995.
The Jeep Cherokee is all prepped for evolution and comes in four new editions. The latest models are packed with advanced, sleek and dynamic designs best suited for on/off-road driving experience. Succeeding the Jeep Liberty and Cherokee XJ, which ended production in 2012 and 2001 respectively, the new 2014 Jeep Cherokee is the first to be designed by Chrysler Group on Fiat's platform.
The four new editions, Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk, feature two engine options, a new front wheel drive and 9-speed transmission system in four different configurations. The new engines improve fuel efficiency by up to 45 percent compared to its predecessors.
Jeep Cherokee can be equipped with either a standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine in line with Fiat MultiAir II technology or an optional 3.2-liter V6 engine. The 2.4 liter "Tigershark" engine delivers 184 hp and produces 171 pound-feet torque, while the 3.2 liter "Pentastar" V6 engine delivers 271 horsepower and 239 pound per feet of torque, according to the car maker'sdescription.
The four-wheel-drive models with the Tigershark engine are achieve 22 mpg within the city limits and 31mpg on the highway with an average of 25mpg. The models fitted with Pentastar engine will deliver 19 mpg in the city, 28mpg on highways and 22mpg in average.
All four editions will come in a range of 11 different colors to choose from such as brilliant black, deep cherry red, bright white, true blue, billet silver, granite, eco green and cashmere. All models have extensive safety enhancements with new Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist, ParkSense front / rear Park Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Cross Path Detection with radar senses to detect objects in blind spots on sides, standard 10 airbags with standard full-length side-curtain & side thorax airbags, and new Adaptive Cruise Control.
The Jeep Cherokee Sport edition start at $22,995, while the other models are placed in a higher price range. The Latitude starts at $24,495, Limited edition starts at $27,995 and the Trailhawk comes with a $29,495 price tag.
