Amanda Bynes has left the Los Angeles hospital she has been staying at and checked into a celebrity-friendly rehabilitation center in Malibu. According to TMZ, Bynes checked into The Canyon about three weeks ago but barely interacts with people and hardly leaves her room.
Sources told the gossip website that the actress would rather be alone while she seeks treatment for her mental illness. Reportedly, Bynes has stopped wearing her wigs and is extremely "paranoid" that the paparazzi will find her.
According to TMZ, the former Nickelodeon star is still in a "desperate state" and is expected to continue getting treatment until 2015. Her doctors have also put her under a new psychiatric hold called a LPS hold, which basically means they can hold her against her will for treatment.
In late July, the 27-year-old was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold, called a 5150 hold, after starting a fire in the driveway of the home in Thousand Oaks, Calif. The actress had been displaying very strange behavior leading up to being hospitalized including wearing wigs in public, attacking celebrities on Twitter and allegedly throwing a bong out the window of her 36th floor Manhattan apartment.
According to TMZ, the move to the new rehab facility might not be a good idea for Bynes because they do not have the psychiatric facility that was available to the actress at UCLA. The Canyon also got in trouble back in 2011 when an employee allegedly sold confidential information about Brooke Mueller while she was staying there back in 2010.
The employee was reportedly sending documents to members of the media. The leaked documents contained vital information about Mueller including specific information about her problems. Mueller sued the facility and eventually settled the lawsuit around $250,000.
