Colombian Priest Captures Image Of 'Virgin Mary' In Raging Forest Fire

Father Pito of Columbia believes that he captured a photo of the Virgin Mary on his camera phone in Paramillo y El Rosa in the San Sebastian region, which has been ravaged by fires ripping through the forests.

"Our father Pito took the picture, but he didn't realize that she was there until he saw it in the camera, when the virgencita (little virgin) had appeared," one villager told local TV, reported the Daily Mail.

"Yes, it's true that you can see her image in the middle of the flames," the villager added, Florida News Grio noted.

Devastated villagers are convinced that they can see the outline of the Madonna in the forest fires. They believe that it's a sign that their luck is about to change for the better.

"This is good news for our area which is so dry in the summer, because the little virgin is going to illuminate us and she is going to help us get through this," a villager said, the Daily Mail reported.

Almost 300 families on about 740 acres of land have been affected by the fire, which has left six people injured, four missing and hundreds homeless, according to Florida News Grio.

"For all of those who had to leave with their possessions, who are now on the street, in whatever way we can, we will move forward," the villager said, Florida News Grio reported.
