"The Martian," a movie starring Matt Damon, is set to hit U.S. movie theaters this weekend. Before it does, it is getting an official iOS and Apple Watch game tie-in from Little Labs.
Licensed from Fox Digital Entertainment, the game, "The Martian: Bring Him Home," is made with the blessing and help of Andy Weir, the author of the original book that the new film is based on, 9 To 5 Mac reported.
Players take the role of a NASA worker. The survival of Mark Watney, the stranded astronaut, lies in the player's ability to correctly maneuver through a series of questions that will be sent to your iPhone or Apple Watch.
There are multiple stories and endings, and the outcome players get depends on the responses they choose for each question received. As the game progresses, a team of specialists can be unlocked, and they will serve as the player's source of critical data to help in making better decisions, according to Polygon.
"Little Labs has brought my vision of The Martian to life in such a unique and creative manner. Fans are going to enjoy this experience as it complements the story in such a fantastic light," Weir said, Mashable reported.
