After a falling accident this summer, former president, George H.W. Bush, is on his way to recovery. The accident last July caused a fracture of his C2 vertebra, which is just one vertebra under the skull. His healing pleases his former first lady, Barbara Bush.
"She is just thrilled that he has recovered the way he has. They're at the end of this road. It was a scary thing when it happened, and he's almost back to 100 percent," Bush's chief-of-staff, Jean Becker said, according to CBS Boston.
After getting his doctor's approval, 91-year-old Bush is able to sail on his boat when the sea is calm enough for his condition. Bush was able to visit the students of the Massachusetts' Philips Academy, where he finished his prep school education in 1942. The Philips Academy "meant so much to me in my life," Bush said, according to the Inquisitr.
Bush was also able to attend a documentary screening about his life. The documentary entitled "41on41" includes 41 speakers chosen to share their stories about the 41st president. The speakers include members of the Bush family, leaders of different nations, sports personalities and White House staff during his term.
Presently, Bush wears a neck brace to stabilize his neck, since he will travel again to Kennebunkport for the summer where the Bush's summer home is located. His doctor noted that Bush needs three to four months to completely recover, NBCDFW reported.
