Emee, a 7-month-old emu who lives with her family in Yorkshire, England, was caught on tape playing with a very unlikely best friend. As seen in this YouTube video, the fluffy black-and-white emu hatchling can be seen playing and pecking the family dog, as the two pets ran around in their owner's living room.
Lucy, the dog, has been a surrogate mother to a number of animals in the past. Living at her master's farm, Lucy has taken on the role of mother hen to the rambunctious bird, playing along with Emee's sportful tendencies, reported AOL.
Emee and Lucy's owner, Sue Holmes, is an avid animal lover. She posted the hilarious video on Facebook back in April, as well as other clips showing Emee as she grew.
Among the videos posted of the young emu, her playful clip with her best friend Lucy proved to be the most popular, garnering over two million views, according to the Daily Mail.
Although native to Australia, Emee was born and raised in England. Though still fairly small in the video, Emee will soon dwarf Lucy.
Emus are among the tallest birds on the planet, with some growing as tall as two meters in height and weighing up to 45 kilos. Their diet consists of grass, flowers, seeds, fruits and, in some cases, even insects.
