Anna Chapman, former Russian spy turned model, walked out early on an NBC interview after she was asked about her Twitter proposal to Edward Snowden, NewsMax reported.
Chapman, 31, was deported from the United States in 2010 after being arrested for spying. She was posing as a real estate agent in New York City.
She recently agreed to the interview with NBC reporter Richard Engel to discuss her new television show "Mysteries of the World." However, the former secret agent ended the conversation in just five minutes after Engel asked if she was serious about Snowden.
"I'm not going to talk about this," Chapman initially said. When Engel continued to pursue his question, she said, "Okay. The interview is finished. I'm sorry," and left.
On July 3, Chapman tweeted "Snowden, will you marry me?!" shortly after he arrived in Moscow to escape U.S. authorities. She then posted a second tweet directed to a fake account for the National Security Agency (NSA), "@nsa will you look after our children?"
Snowden, 30, is a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and NSA employee who intentionally disclosed government documents detailing government surveillance programs in the United States and England. He currently resides in Russia.
Engel discussed the "strange" interview on NBC's "Today" show.
"In some ways it is ironic that Chapman now hosts a television show about aliens and mysteries, because the FBI investigation into her sleeper cell, get this, was codenamed 'Ghoststories,'" he said.
Despite working as a model and creating a television show, Chapman said earlier in the interview that she doesn't feel comfortable in the public eye.
"I'm a very private, discreet person and I still don't do many interviews because I just don't like to share. I don't believe that people would be interested in knowing about somebody's life," she said.
