Rick Ross, Eyeing Miami Dolphins Stake, Happy Joe Philbin Fired

The Miami Dolphins were the big talk of the NFL this weekend after they were crushed by the New York Jets in London on Sunday morning moving their record to 1-3 on the season. The Dolphins came into this year with some big expectations after giving Ryan Tannehill a huge extension and signing Ndamukong Suh to a big free agent deal but things haven't started off great. After the loss to the Jets the Dolphins decided to fire head coach Joe Philbin in a move many people thought had to be made and one of those people was rapper Rick Ross, according to TMZ.

Ross is famously a huge fan of all Miami sports including the Heat and the Dolphins so it comes as no surprise that he was cool with the Dolphins axing their head coach after their very disappointing start. Ross believes that things can't possibly get any worse than they already are so a change was a good idea.

The Carol City native, born William Roberts, has been trying to buy a stake in the Dolphins for about a year now but has not been able to do so just yet. Ross is a successful rapper and runs his own label called Maybach Music Group which features artists including Meek Mill and Wale among others so he has the money to do it and it is likely just a matter of time before he gets the 5 percent stake in the company that he is looking for.

Ross didn't give his thoughts on the interim head coach, Dan Campbell, but he did say that he thinks the rest of the season will go much better than it has been so far. We will have to wait and see if that's true but at least this move made one of the Dolphins super fans happy.

Ross just recently released his free album "Black Dollar" and announced his next commercial release called "Black Market," according to HotNewHipHop.com, although it doesn't have a release date yet. Listen to his new single featuring Chris Brown "Sorry" off the new album below.
