Justin Bieber and One Direction are both releasing new albums on Nov. 13, and Bieber has already expressed his unhappiness after One Direction made an announcement via a Snapchat video in which he said: "That face you make when you come out with an album the same day as Justin Bieber," before making a "scared" face, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The "What Do You Mean?" singer has now elaborated his displeasure, claiming that 1D chose to release its album on the same day as his upcoming album, "Purpose," in order to get more press.
"They're not really going on the road much, but we're talking about them right now, so it gives them some promo, right?" he said during an interview with a New Zealand radio station last week, according to The Guardian. "So, that's probably why they did it ... I think it was strategy on their part because my release date was first. But whatever. It's going to be fun. I'm excited to see what happens."
One Direction announced the release date of its album "Made in the A.M." after Bieber announced when his album drops. "Made in the A.M." will be 1D's fifth album and first release since the departure of Zayn Malik from the band, as HNGN previously reported.
Bieber's album features his comeback single "What Do You Mean?," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making him the youngest male artist to ever have a track debut at the top spot on the chart.
