Cindy Hahn: Police Officers Beat Woman, She Sues City (VIDEO)

Cindy Hahn, a woman from Carlsbad, Calif., is suing the city over her July 2013 arrest where she was caught on video being punched in the head by an officer as she was pinned to the ground.

The case brought by the 41-year-old was moved to federal court in September, reported The San Diego Union Tribune. In addition to the initial charge of excessive force, Hahn is also suing for battery, negligence and federal and state civil rights violations.

The video shows Hahn pinned to the ground by an officer. Another officer soon joined the fray and hit Hahn in the head while telling her to stop resisting, reported The Root. As Hahn screams for help, shouting that she didn't do anything wrong, a third officer stands in front of the other two telling onlookers to back away.

The lawsuit alleges Hahn was pulled over for a seat belt violation that she was never ticketed for, according to the Associated Press.

The Carlsbad Police Department denied the accusation, saying it will provide its account of the incident in court.
