Steve-O And Sea World Protest: Sentenced To 30 Days In Jail For Crane Stunt

Steve-O will spend up to 30 days in Los Angeles County jail for his crane stunt protesting Sea World in August.

The "Jackass" star, whose real name is Stephen Glover, reported his 30-day sentence in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

"Considering I've become a clean and sober, dog-rescuing vegan, I must say I'm ready to go to jail-- not just because it will bring so much attention to the plight of orcas in captivity, but because it's nice to let people know I haven't lost my edge. What can I say, I'm a jackass," he wrote.

Los Angeles police arrested him on Aug. 9 when he climbed nearly 100 feet up a construction crane, set off fireworks and inflated a blow-up killer whale with the words "Sea World Sucks" on the side, written with duct tape.

"My whole crane-climbing, fireworks debacle really turned out to be pretty meaningful in the end, too. I mean, if your goal is to make a statement about captivity, you may as well get yourself locked up!" the 41-year-old comedian wrote.

In the meantime, Steve-O announced a fundraiser to win a trip to his upcoming Showtime comedy special, which will benefit at-risk youth in Los Angeles. The grand-prize winner will win a trip to Austin as his special VIP guest for the taping on Nov. 21.

Other prizes include merchandise, personalized social media posts, video chats and a day of filming stunts and pranks with Steve-O.
