Who need a horse and carriage when you've got the train? Katie Holmes is no stranger when it comes to using the New York City public transportation - which also could be the reason why the former "Dawson Creek" actress opted out of taking a limousine and instead hopped on the train wearing a strapless cherry colored ball gown and heels.
The 36-year-old mother-of-one shared a photo of herself boarding a dirty New Jersey Transit train at New York City's Penn Station Wednesday while wearing a "full-length red brocade dress with black detailing" and donning pointed heels in the same vibrant tone, People reported.
"Heels and a train... nothing better #newyork #pennstation," the "Ray Donovan" star captioned the photo. In the photo, Holmes has her hair pulled back in a high messy bun and is wearing no visible makeup.
Holmes is currently filming "All We Had" in Brooklyn, which will also be her directorial debut. The actress also resides in New York with her 9-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise, who she welcomed into the world with ex-husband Tom Cruise. Holmes regularly shares photos of her adventures in New York City with her 200,000-plus followers on Instagram.
