Mailka Haqq, who is well-known in the reality TV world for being Khloe Kardashian's best friend and starring in her own new show "Dash Dolls," was arrested early Thursday morning following a car crash for a suspected DUI, TMZ reported. Once officials realized the 32-year-old reality star showed "symptoms of intoxication," they asked her to perform a field sobriety test, which she failed.
She was taken into custody around 4 a.m. after police received a call about a minor collision involving her black Mercedes-Benz, according to People. Haqq suffered minor injuries, but it was her intoxication that quickly became the main focus. She was taken to the Valley Jail in Van Nuys, after having a blood alcohol concentration of more than 0.08 percent, where she spent several hours in custody before being released on a $30,000 bail.
With her and her twin sister Khadijah's show about their lives as co-managers at the Kardashian's clothing store DASH premiering on E! just a few weeks ago, the network did make a statement on the arrest. "'Dash Dolls' previously wrapped production and the fourth episode will air this Sunday," an E! spokesperson told People. "We are aware of the incident involving Malika and will not be commenting."
Khadijah also released a statement herself following the incident. "We all go through rough patches and this has been a difficult year for my sister," she told E! News. "Malika understands the gravity of her actions and deeply apologizes. At this time, we will deal with this as a family."
