Jewelry designer Delfina Delettrez is reinventing engagement rings. For her 2016 spring and summer collection, which was presented at the Paris Fashion Week, the Fendi designer showcased diamond rings that are meant to be worn on the nose.
The latest style from her Faceted collection - called the engagement septum ring or engagement nose ring - is for the bride who "nose what she wants," as the designer teased on her Instagram prior to the presentation.
"Maybe we can move away from having to wear an engagement ring - introduce engagement rings, engagement earrings, engagement bracelets, and to add a little punkiness to it, a little irony, I wanted to introduce the engagement nose ring," she said via Vogue.
The engagement nose rings come in several designs ranging from simple single diamonds to multiple marquise-cut diamonds. It also holds one tiny secret: "It's a fake piercing but with real diamonds," said the designer, according to Look. So, a woman can still wear this engagement nose ring even without an actual nose piercing.
Apart from the nose rings, the jewelry designer also showcased a mesh of eccentric, whimsical but eye-grabbing jewelry pieces during her show. Many of these are art deco inspired, with designs that have human face features like the eyes and lips.
