Real Madrid took a blow on Tuesday when Gareth Bale was ruled out of Wednesday's match with a thigh injury. Bale, the team's 100 million euro signing, also missed two matches last week due to "muscle fatigue," Sky Sports reports.
The club will need to find a way to get over its early-season struggles without Bale. Real Madrid has been underwhelming this season on the pitch and the fans are growing restless. Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged turning around the club's season starts him.
"This is my responsibility. I'm going to fix it, it's normal they are upset," Ancelotti told reporters, via Sky Sports. "It's a motivation for me because I want the public to enjoy Real Madrid. The results were good up until last week. We haven't started to play naturally yet. You need to have more time for the players to use the system in the most natural way possible. We've changed many things."
Despite dropping their derby game against Atletico, Ancelotti believes his squad has the talent to win games and make a push in the Champions League.
"I have confidence in the players and I think they're going to respond well. The game against Copenhagen is a good chance to recover," said Ancelotti. "The team will play well very soon."
