Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has found the fountain of youth.
Actually, he's just gotten a healthy Carson palmer under center. Thanks to the poor QB plays we've seen in Arizona over the last few years, fantasy football owners started to forget how good Fitzgerald could be. Now with Palmer tossing him the ball, Fitzgerald has loudly reminded everyone that he is The Man.
Through four games, Fitzy has already caught 30 passes for 432 yards and five touchdowns. The good times are expected to keep rolling against the Detroit Lions this weekend.
"Fitz is the only wideout with at least 75 receiving yards in every game this season, and the Lions have allowed an average of 271.5 passing yards per game, 24th in the NFL," ESPN Senior Fantasy analyst Matthew Berry wrote in his weekly Love/Hate column. "Plus, Fitzgerald has nine receptions on deep passes (15-plus yards downfield), tied for most in the league. The Lions have allowed opponents to complete the highest percentage of deep passes in the league."
The Lions are 0-4 and getting beat up on defense. The Cardinals, meanwhile, are 3-1 and looking like one of the best teams in the NFL through the first quarter of the season. That should continue this weekend and that means good things for Fitzgerald owners.
