’50 Shades of Grey’ Movie Cast: E.L. James Confirms Charlie Hunnam WILL Play Christian Grey (SEE TWEET)

Charlie Hunnam will star as Christian Grey in the movie "Fifty Shades of Grey." Recently there was a rumor that the 33-year-old actor was quitting the movie and trying to figure out a way to back out of his contract because of all the fan backlash, but it turns out the rumor isn't true.

E.L. James sent out a subtle hint to her Twitter followers that Hunnam is still on to play the kinky billionaire. She tweeted "Guess who..." along with a photo of Hunnam's forearm tattoo that his character Jax Teller wears on the show "Sons of Anarchy."

Fans had mixed feelings about the rumor that Hunnam didn't want to star in the movie. Some were super happy while others begged for it not to be true,

Even though some fans would love to see Hunnam replaced, we have to give the actor some credit. He has been handling the enormous amount of backlash pretty well and appears to have not let all the negative comments get to him.

He was spotted signing autographs and recently told The Sun newspaper that he wasn't going to use a body double in the film. According to Metro, he said he was ready to go the "full monty" with Anastasia Steele, who was cast as Dakota Johnson.

"I'll never use a body double. I'm not worried," he said.

He has previously admitted that he was totally ok with shooting the kinky scenes because he's had plenty of practice getting down and dirty on screen. He explained that his first job as an actor was on a British miniseries as a young, gay teen and the sex scenes were intense.

"You know what, I had such a baptism of fire with regards to sexuality on camera at the beginning of my career," he told the AP. "I starred in the British Channel 4 miniseries Queer as Folk, where I played a young, gay character, and there were some incredible, explicit sex scenes on that show."

"Now I am 16 years older and more mature so I don't anticipate them being too much of a problem. It's like anything else, just an exciting challenge," he continued.

Are you glad Charlie Hunnam will still be Christian Grey?
