Last week a video went viral of a dying dad reading a letter for his ill 6-year-old daughter, according to the Huffington Post. On Tuesday, Oct. 6, the loving father died from a brain tumor, reported the Daily Mirror.
Tom Attwater, 31, lived with his fiancee, Joely, 26, and stepdaughter, Kelli, in the suburbs of Birmingham in the West Midlands of England. He was a businessman who fought cancer for three years, the Huffington Post reported.
Last December the Daily Mirror ran a story about Attwater raising money to pay for his stepdaughter's cancer treatments. He partnered with Families Against Neuroblastoma to raise at least $800,000, according to The Examiner.
With the help of donors and readers who saw his story in the Daily Mirror, Attwater raised $750,000 to pay for Kelli's future medical treatments in case the cancer ever returned.
In addition to leaving funding to take care of his family, the dying father also left a heartfelt letter for his stepdaughter. See the video below:
Here are some highlights from the beautiful video Attwater left for his stepdaughter.
"Nothing is more important than family and the values they give us."
"Do what makes you happy and that you enjoy. If you do that, life suddenly becomes much, much easier."
"Always keep trying. You might remember that I taught you to say 'giving up is for losers.' I failed a number of times in my life but never gave up. Kelli, never give up. Enjoy your life. Don't rush through it. I will be waiting."
