Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant will not play Monday night against the San Diego Chargers, as he will not be added to the roster until Tuesday, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Ed Bouchette.
Bryant reportedly tweaked his knee in practice on Monday, and that is why he will not be activated until after the Chargers game, according to Fox Sports' Ross Jones. He was due to return after serving a four-game suspension for violating NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Bryant was reportedly suspended for failing multiple drug tests for marijuana, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.
The Steelers will be without their starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger again on Sunday, as he is still recovering from an MCL knee sprain. Quarterback Mike Vick will make his second start with the Steelers and is reportedly getting more acquainted with the offense after losing last week to the Baltimore Ravens.
"The way he delivers the plays now are getting more fluid," said guard Ramon Foster, via TribLIVE. "He delivered a play today, and it was smooth, It was good to see it flow and got to the line with it."
Vick will look to star receiver Antonio Brown Monday, as he already has 34 receptions for 478 yards and two touchdowns. Without Bryant on the field, players like Brown, Markus Wheaton and Darrius Heyward-Bey will have to continue to step up.
