John Musker, the film's writer and co-director, said that Robin Williams "was the Genie, he was bigger than life," reported CNN News.
Co-director Ron Clements said that the Genie role was written for Robin Williams: "There was nobody else who could be the genie and fortunately he agreed to do it. He had so much energy and so much passion."
