Mark Burnett announced Thursday a resulting partnership with Virgin Galactic to launch a television series that will give a ticket for someone to travel in space.
Burnett is behind the amazing reality TV creation Survivor and the singing competition The Voice. Virgin Galactic on the other hand is a spinoff from Richard Branson's Virgin Group.
The reality TV series known as the "Space Race" is a reality TV program putting contestants into a competition where the winner will get to space travel in Virgin Galactic's SpaceShip Two.

SpaceShip Two will soon be offered for commercial flight in outer space. The ship could take six passengers and its two pilots up into space. By 2014, anyone can already ride the space craft and tour in the outer space at $250,000 per head. To date, around 630 people had already made reservations for the space ride.
Currently, the spacecraft is still being tested in California's Mojave City. It was created to lift off at around 63 miles from the planet and tour in space to give people a memorable space experience a breathtaking view of the earth in the space backdrop, without the usual gravitational pull.
"For the past 10 years I have relentlessly pursued my dream of using a TV show to give an everyday person the chance to experience the black sky of space and look down upon Mother Earth," Burnett said in news release.
"Last year I spent time in New Mexico at the state-of-the-art facility, and last week spent time in the Mojave Desert with Sir Richard and his impressive team. We got to see the spaceship up close and hear of Sir Richard's incredible vision of how Virgin Galactic is the future of private space travel. I am thrilled to be part of a series that will give the everyday person a chance to see space, and that NBC has come on board, too, so that viewers at home will have a first-class seat."
No details yet have been announced with regard to the debut of the program or the mechanics of the game.
