The Vampire Diaries Season 5: Will Silas' Power Continue to Grow?; 4 Questions We Have After the Premiere

“The Vampire” Diaries started with a bang to say the least. Silas (Paul Wesley) has hypnotized the town, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola) have a vampire/college problem, Matt (Zach Roerig) may be possessed and Katherine is on the run. So many things happened and we have so many questions. Here are a few:

No. 1—Just What Exactly is Matt?

Matt may really regret that threesome with Nadia* (Olga Fonda). He probably started to regret it after she stole from him and Rebekah. He’s really going to regret it after he finds out she may have helped turn him into some mysterious and evil creature. So what did Nadia’s friend turn him into? What are her plans for him?

No. 2—Does Someone Dangerous Know Elena and Caroline are at Whitmore?

The girls’ roommate Megan knew Elena’s father, so there’s a good chance she knew Elena and Caroline are vampires. Who killed Megan? Are Elena and Caroline strong enough to fight this new vampire? Does the creepy Dr. Maxfield (Rick Cosnett) have anything to do with this?

No. 3—Will Silas’ Power Grow?

When we first met Silas he could control the mind of one person at a time. Now, he has the ability to turn over 30 people into mindless zombies and make them do his bidding. What will he be able to do next?

No. 4—Will the relationship between Jeremy and Damon Get Better?

The moment at the end of the season premiere was pretty nice. I think Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) could make a great team. Will they continue to get along? Or will Damon find a reason to kill Jeremy “in the privacy of [his] own home” again?

“The Vampire Diaries” airs Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW.
