Codemasters Unveils F1 2013

F1, one of the most highly anticipated racing games of the year by Codemasters, was released Friday. The game is available in two avatars as announced earlier by the game developer, the Standard and the Classic mode.

What's new:

Players of both the versions will get the classic content of the 1980s schedule that includes 10 additional iconic drivers, five legendary cars, Brands Hatch and Circuito De Jerez as per the official website of F1. The holders of the Classic edition will have additional 1990s content that will sport seven more iconic drivers, five legendary cars and the two super classic tracks- Imola and Estoril alongside the 80s content and the Murray walkers voice intro( also available for the standard version). However, the buyers of the standard version may add up some of the premium features to their edition from the downloadable content for the game to be shortly revealed.

"If you go back in time, it's not necessarily about recreating the experience perfectly, it's about your memories of it" as stated by Paul Jeal, director for F1, reveals a recent post on PlayStation UK.

Like its former versions, F1 2013 will be a multi player game offering challenges, stats and progress tracking. The RaceNet on the multi player mode comprises of 22 grids, 16 cars and six dots. The players can choose from the virtual characters of the previous editions for the series or can simply choose one among the new circuits with current stars to race with, reports bleacherreport.

The players will be delivered social challenges on a weekly basis by the others gamers online.

The improved Young Drivers Test on the game guides the followers on additional perks offered by the game. At the same time, the latest edition of F1 claims to be more time saving as the player gets to play in bite size chunks of the game rather than a tiring lengthy session, as cited by IGN.

"What we really wanted to do was just enable people to save the game whenever. So you're on lap 13, you've got to go out for dinner or the phone rings, now you can complete it at a later date," said Stephen Hood, the creative director for the game, according to IGN. "Save and resume whenever you want. I think more people will be able to enjoy what Formula 1 entails and the strategy involved."

From the graphical stand point, this game will be a pure delight for the players. The lighting, shading and texturing have been proportioned keeping in mind the console resolution and will appear more intense on the next generation consoles.
