Chris Brown did a candid interview with The Guardian and opened up about his career, Rihanna and even spilled a shocking little detail. The 24-year-old R&B singer revealed to the British newspaper that he was only 8-years-old when he lost his virginity. Yes, you read that.
Brown explained that things were "different in the country" and when he was only a young tot he had sex for the very first time with a girl who was 14 or 15 years old. This seems like something some people would be afraid to share but Brown claims it has definitely helped him in certain areas of his romantic life.
"We were already like hot to trot, you know what I'm saying? Like, girls, we weren't afraid to talk to them; I wasn't afraid," he said. "So, at eight, being able to do it, it kind of preps you for the long run, so you can be a beast at it. You can be the best at it."
"Most women won't have any complaints if they've been with me," he continued. "They really can't complain. It's all good."
The signer wouldn't reveal how many women he had been with but compared himself to a younger Prince.
"But you know how Prince had a lot of girls back in the day? Prince was, like, the guy," Brown said. "I'm just that, today."
Switching gears a little bit, Brown revealed that he knew he wanted to be a singer by the time he was 12-years-old and would often get inspiration from Michael Jackson, Usher, Ginuwine, Sam Cooke and James Brown.
"I was never afraid to take those steps or cross those boundaries of trying to be equal to those guys," he said. "I never doubted myself, and I thought if I'm going to do it, I've just got to work hard."
And he did do it. Brown was discovered by a record producer at 13 and was signed to Jive Records at 15. A year later he released his first album. His career took off but everything came crashing down the night of the 2009 Grammy Awards.
According to The Guardian, when Brown and his then-girlfriend Rihanna failed to show up to the ceremony rumors began circulating that the couple had called it quits. Not long after news broke that the "Forever" singer had attacked Rihanna. He was issued a restraining order and sentenced to six months of community labor and five years on probation.
The signer has since been trying to put the incident behind him and get his career back on track but several other incidents - allegedly fighting with Frank Ocean, getting into Twitter wars and trashing a studio when a reporter brought up Rihanna - has made it extremely hard for Brown to shed his bad-boy image.
However, Brown said he has learned his lesson and is confident he can get his music career back on track.
"That was probably, like, one of the most troubling times in my life, because I was 18 or 19, so being able to feel the hatred from more adult people, you don't understand it at the time, because you made a mistake," he said. "I'm going to come back, I know the music that I'm doing, how hard I work, is not just for nothing."
