'Final Jeopardy!' Sports-Related Question Too Tricky, Stumps All Contestants

"Final Jeopardy!" in Friday's "Jeopardy!" episode was a sports-themed answer that not only stumped all three contestants, but also professional sports fans.

"When translated, the full name of this Major League Baseball team gets you a double redundancy," was the answer to be questioned by the contestants.

Contestant Matt Akridge answered the Chicago Cubs, Zelda Pulliam replied with the Minnesota Twins, and Josh Silverman tried his luck with the New York Mets, all of which are incorrect questions, resulting in them losing a combined $28,001, according to USA Today.

Even sports writer Ben Reiter admitted to not knowing what to reply to the "Final Jeopardy!" in a tweet.

To have the correct question, contestants have to think of baseball team names that can be translated, figure out what language to translate to and from, and lastly, pinpoint which will give out a double redundancy, all in just a few seconds. There was just a lot asked for, and it was too tricky for anyone to actually figure out in time.

The correct question was revealed to be "What is the Los Angeles Angels?"

"Los Angeles" translates from Spanish to English as "The Angels," thus making the team's full name "The Angels Angels," Fox Sports reported.
