'Grand Theft Auto V' Updates Lowriders Customization Shop Online (VIDEO & PHOTOS)

Rockstar will re-release the Grand Theft Auto Online Lowriders Update on Oct. 20 for Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, according to Car Scoops Magazine.

Grand Theft Auto is a blockbuster action-adventure series in the $100 billion video game industry, The Wall Street Journal stated. Grand Theft Auto V generated over $1 billion in sales in its first three days when it was released in 2013.

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., owns Rockstar Games and publishes their famous series Grand Theft Auto. Take-Two's chief executive officer, Strauss Zelnick, is the former president of Twentieth Century Fox.

"With the release of 'Grand Theft Auto IV,' we created the first downloadable add-on, episodic content. That began to shift the business to this business where you get involved with a title, and if it's a big hit, and you really love it, there's an opportunity to stay involved on a longer basis. The company that's providing the content, whether it's us or one of our competitors, can continue to monetize that engagement. In the past fiscal year, digital distribution was over one-third of out revenue. Half of that is recurrent customer spending," Zelnick stated.

As part of Take-Two's business plan to engage online gamers, Rockstar will reopen Benny's Original Motor Works, "a new customs shop in downtown Strawberry that offers a huge range of lowrider customizations that can turn your classic junker into a high-spec, tricked-out king of the streets," Rockstar said in a press statement.

Other Lowriders Updates are fully automatic Machine Pistol and Machete from Ammu-Nation, three new Adversary Modes, and new missions from Lamar, according to PlayStation Lifestyle Magazine.

Rockstar is having a sale on Grand Theft Auto on the North American PlayStation Store through Oct. 19. The Lowriders Update will be available on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
