Former Miss Austria Ena Kadic died Tuesday from injuries sustained during a Friday fall off the side of Bergisel Moutain near Innsbruck. The 26-year-old was found by two students on the Drachenfelsen panorama platform, according to the Telegraph, and was then airlifted to Innsbruck University hospital. Before losing consciousness, Kadic was able to call her brother to tell him about the accident.
Kadic, who was said to have fallen 30 meters, suffered serious head trauma and injuries to her lung and her pelvis, according to the Mirror UK.
The police said that Kadic, an avid runner, was familiar with the area and specific details relating to the accident remain unclear, according to Agence France - Presse.
Between May and September of this year, there have been 2,385 injuries in the Austrian mountains and 115 of those resulted in death.
Kadic won the Miss Austria title in 2013, and represented the country that year in the Miss World pageant.
