Zendaya took to Instagram Tuesday night to call out Modeliste magazine for photoshopping her hips and thighs to make them appear slimmer, Us Weekly reported. The 19-year-old Disney star slammed the fashion mag for altering her image and posted the before-and-after shots side by side.
"Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19 year old hips and torso quite manipulated. These are the things that make women self conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have," Zendaya wrote in the caption on Instagram, along with the side-by-side.
The un-retouched photo on the right showed the "KC Undercover" star wearing a belted leather jacket which cinched at her already small waist. She wore the jacket over a black leotard, which showed off the curves of her hips and thighs. In the left photo, Zendaya's hips are straighter, and her thighs and waist are considerably slimmer.
"Anyone who knows who I am knows I stand for honest and pure self love. So I took it upon myself to release the real pic (right side) and I love it," she continued in her post. "Thank you @modelistemagazine for pulling down the images and fixing this retouch issue."
The magazine's November issue features Zendaya on the cover, along with a story that digs into her "style secrets, beauty favorites, and how she remains the ultimate cool girl," according to Modeliste.
