Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom want to give their marriage a second chance. Kardashian's lawyer Laura Wasser asked a judge to withdraw the divorce papers that the formerly estranged couple signed and submitted in July because they want to remain husband and wife, TMZ reported. The judge granted the couple's request.
"This is a very delicate and difficult time for both Lamar and Khloé, and the most sensible thing to do at such a time is not make any big moves and put everything on hold," a source close to Kardashian told Us Weekly. "So that's what she is doing."
The news comes after Odom, 35, spent 72 hours in a medically induced coma after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel last Tuesday, as previously reported by HNGN. The former NBA star remained in critical condition until Friday, and he's been making strides toward what doctors say is a miraculous recovery. Kardashian, 31, rushed to her estranged husband's side last Tuesday night and has vowed to support him through his recovery.
Kardashian and Odom married in September 2009, Entertainment Tonight reported. The reality star filed for divorce in 2013, citing Odom's cheating and drug use, but the couple didn't sign the papers until July. Due to a backlog, the couple was still legally married when Odom was found unconscious last week.
Even though Kardashian dated other people while separated from Odom, she opened up about her love for him in a recent interview with Complex magazine.
"Lamar is genuinely one of the best people I've ever met, and everyone says that when they meet him," Kardashian told Complex. "I think Lamar's gonna always be that person [for me] but that's what made it so special."
