ROADTRIP!!!!! (Well, sort of.)
In a sneak peek provided exclusively to TV Line, Jeremy and Matt have stopped at a gas station with a very unpleasant companion—Katherine.
(If this were a road trip, it wouldn’t exactly be a nice one.)
Apparently, they’ve stopped to allow Katherine to use the ladies’ room. She’s sick and asks Jeremy to get her some medicine, to which he replies:
“Silas knows I’m with you, sorry I can’t risk being seen.”
Does this mean that Silas has gotten even more powerful? The last time we left Mystic Falls, Silas was commanding over 30 people to help him look for Katherine—meaning that if they found him he would know instantly. It would appear from Jeremy’s statement that those same people—and maybe even more—are now looking for him. It’s possible Silas' power has grown since last episode, which means more problems for Jeremy, Matt and Damon.
Nevertheless, this sneak peek poses a really big question—Has Damon had a change of heart?
In the season premiere, Damon was trying to protect Katherine from Silas by having Jeremy drive her to a location even Damon didn’t know. However, after Silas told Damon he knew where Stefan was, the elder Salvatore called Jeremy and asked him to bring Katherine back—to which she responded by taking the wheel, having the car crash into a telephone pole and leaving Jeremy on the brink of death while she escaped.
EOnline reported earlier this year that Katherine was going to get protection from “a familiar face.” Unless Jeremy is going behind Damon’s back, it seems as if he’s the “familiar face.”
If that's the case, what changed Damon's mind? Guess we’ll find out in Episode 2.
