Nikon has added a new member to its wide DSLR lineup with the latest D610, succeeding the D600 model. The new DSLR camera addresses the "oil-like leak" issue from its previous model and has made slight improvements in almost all other features.
Nikon, world leader in digital imaging, has announced the latest addition to its DSLR lineup by introducing the Nikon D610 DSLR camera. Succeeding the D600 model, Nikon D610 will bring some improvements including fixing the "oil-like leak" on the sensor in its predecessor. The burst shot speed has been tweaked, frames per second (fps) increased and some features from the higher Nikon D800 model have been borrowed.
The latest Nikon D610 shares most of the specification as in the D600 model but certain improvements will please the enthusiasts. There has been no change in the CMOS sensor, which continues the 24.3 megapixel FX-format. It also includes an Expeed 3 image processor, which is equipped with the higher-end D4, D800 and D800E models, for better image quality and broader image range.
The new model is an update from 5.5fps to 6fps for improved burst shots. Also, a Quiet Continuous Shutter Mode up to 3fps enables continuous shots in silent environments without compromising on clarity. It has improved white balance for better skin tones and true color shades.
"The D610 also offers users powerful support for their photography with excellent system expansion using a variety of accessories, including the Wireless Remote Controllers WR-R10 (transceiver) and WR-T10 (transmitter) for simple and enjoyable remote operation, and the Wireless Mobile Adapter WU-1b, which enables simple sharing of full-size images exhibiting the superior image quality of the D610 with a smart device," the company said in a press release.
The ISO range is between 100 and 6,400 but can be expanded up to 25,600. It has dedicated microphone and headphone input and supports Full HD 1080p video recording at 24p and 30p. The design has a sealed tough magnesium alloy and weather sealing comparable to the Nikon D800.
The Nikon D610 will hit the market with a price-tag of $1995.95 for the body-only version and can be coupled with the 24-85mm f3.5-4.5 lens for $2,599.95. Additionally, the camera maker offers two other kits, the 38-300mm f3.5-5.6 lens, 32GB card and large bag for $3.049.95, a $3,249.95 dual-lens kit with 24-85mm and 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 lenses, the WU-1b Wireless Mobile Adapter, 32GB card and a small bag.
