Giants Fan Assaulted After Eagles-Giants Game, Police Searching For Attacker (VIDEO)

Ah, the old Philadelphia Eagles-New York Giants rivalry. When these two NFC East teams meet up to beat the crap out of one another on the field, as they did this past Monday for the 167th time, you know darn well that their fans will be sliding up shirt sleeves with greasy, beer-soaked fingers to do the same. After the Eagles put a surprisingly effective, if not even remotely mistake-free, 27-7 beatdown on Big Blue, the tunnels of the City of Brotherly Love's subway system, SEPTA, were awash with the rambunctious shouts of glee of the drunk and victorious. Only not every fan in Philly roots for the Eagles - some, shockingly, even root for the Giants. One such member of the Philadelphia-bound New York faithful caught the wrong end of one of those grubby, beery Eagle fan hands - or, more accurately, fists - late Monday night. Cellphone video of the incident has been circulating since Tuesday. (Warning: NSFW)

SEPTA, via Fox 29 Local News, released further video Thursday of said Giant fan being attacked by an Eagles fan post-game.

As you can see in the SEPTA video, the Giant fan in question, Anthony Righter, is seen stepping out of the subway car while speaking to, or at, a crowd of Eagles fans. Righter's clearly taunting the Philly fans, though you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks that means he should have been subjected to a haymaker or three.

"I was just trying to go and enjoy the game. I wasn't going to try to pick a fight. I happened to be a Giants fan from Philadelphia," Righter told Fox 29's Chris O'Connell.

Righter, who lives in Delaware County, admitted that he was trash talking - and drinking - but that he never wanted the altercation to turn physical. He has not filed a police report.

As for SEPTA police, they're now on the hunt for the fan who attacked Righter.

"I think there may be some culpability on the side of the Giants fan. But again we'd like to know the full story," Thomas Nestel, Chief of SEPTA Police, told Fox 29.
